    AMD Stock in a Freefall

    By Stock Charts | January 6, 2008

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) stock chart looks pretty grim. It’s been in a freefall for the past two months, closing at a 52 week low last Friday at $6.25. It’s hard to tell if the bleeding is over yet, but the MACD is showing slight signs of recovery. RSI still in oversold territory.

While JP Morgan’s downgrade of competitor Intel Corp. led the sector downward, Wachovia Capital Markets analyst David Wong said in a note to investors that Intel is far ahead of AMD in the quad-core microprocessor market. AMD has also been having problems with it’s quad core Barcelona line. It remains to be seen whether AMD can recover from their recent troubles.
